TV DINNERS

Did the downfall of the American diet begin with tv dinners in the 1950s? Both nostalgic and absurd, the idea of compartmentalized processed food took hold with the rise of television. Invented by Swanson, these “three course meals” in aluminum trays were a quick convenience for the growing number of middle-class women working outside of the home. This project brings a modern perspective to these iconic frozen meals.
